Delivering Outcome-Based Feedback

Deliver messages with clarity and care to improve performance and build trust, without diluting feedback

Managing Performance
Case Studies

The Capability Gap

Feedback is often perceived as a negative and risky experience which is actively avoided, or a chore rarely prioritised due to a lack of time and focus.

However, it is an essential stage of the Performance Management Cycle which needs to be conducted in order to empower, enable and motivate team members and, in doing so, build productive, accountable teams around their managers.

Building confidence and commitment around giving regular feedback creates clear development opportunities for team members to grow their impact and contribution. It also allows managers to work effectively and focus more on their goals.

Learning Outcomes

  • Appreciate the importance of giving regular ‘growth’ feedback

  • Adopt a positive mind-set when preparing for conversations

  • Clearly deliver feedback without diluting the message

  • Be firm, robust and clear as to expectations, whilst being caring and supportive of the person

  • Effectively manage emotion or conflict

Unforgettable Learning Experiences

Turn The Tables

Experience both sides of the table
This experience gives learners the opportunity to practise receiving the feedback that they have identified will be particularly challenging to accept.

Their peers will also benefit from stepping into the shoes of those trying to deliver such feedback, allowing them to empathise with the position of the feedback giver.

Via peer to peer learning and coaching, the learners are also able to identify their own personal development areas to focus on later in the session.

Coaching Vignettes

A different perspective
Vignettes are character-based stories to recreate familiar workplace scenarios.

Participants approach the scenario from a new perspective, stimulating new thinking and solutions.

Participants can see the impact of behavioural choices in action and develop a deeper understanding of how to approach specific contexts with greater confidence.

Forum Theatre

Build confidence in new skills
The epitome of how we help people to defy expectations. Forum Theatre is a highly immersive platform to try new skills and behaviours in a safe, supportive environment.

With real-time, constructive input from peers, we create realistic scenarios which help participants grow in stature and confidence.

Participants emerge from this session ready to create lasting change, with a renewed appreciation of the positive difference they can make.
